Crowned is looking for our next Senior WordPress Developer who pays great attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. We’re looking for an experienced designer with expertise in developing WordPress themes and plugins; a full understanding of web standards and responsive design techniques; an understanding of jQuery, Drupal and other JavaScript libraries; and expert HTML and Sass skills.

[/mk_fancy_title][mk_fancy_title size=”18″ font_family=”none”]As a part of our tech team, you will report to the Chief Technology Officer, and work in a highly collaborative environment alongside our creative team to deliver top quality design for our clients. You’ll work with designers, coders, UXers, strategists and project managers to develop and maintain WordPress websites.[/mk_fancy_title][mk_fancy_title color=”#64c9e4″ size=”22″ font_weight=”500″ txt_transform=”uppercase” font_family=”none”]Here’s what you’ll do:[/mk_fancy_title][mk_fancy_title size=”18″ font_family=”none”]

  • Lead the development of WordPress sites with minimal oversight, and act as a mentor to other developers within the technology team
  • Develop responsive, standards-compliant HTML and CSS3 themes for WordPress
  • Install, test and debug WordPress plugins and develop new plugins as needed
  • Evaluate designs, wireframes and other deliverables during the design and user experience phase for potential development issues and flag problems appropriately
  • Conduct peer review of themes created by other developers
  • Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure consistent display in major supported browsers on Mac, PC, iOS and Android platforms
  • Communicate the intricacies of complex web development issues, acting as a subject matter expert both internally across departments and externally with clients
  • Prototype functionality for internal and client review

  • Experience creating and modifying WordPress themes
  • Experience with WP-CLI
  • Expert HTML & CSS skills with full understanding of web standards and responsive design techniques
  • Familiarity with Sass
  • Understanding of jQuery and other JavaScript libraries
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Ability to estimate time and level of effort for front-end development tasks
  • Ability to manipulate and slice PSDs and InDesign files
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately
  • Preferred: Basic understanding of accessibility best practices, Section 508 compliance and/or WCAG 2.0 standards
  • Strongly Preferred: Expertise with PHP development

Additional Requirements

  • 4+ years professional web development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and U.S. citizenship required
